Our allied health services ensure our residents have
comprehensive individual care plans focused on achieving optimum
health and wellbeing.
An occupational therapist visits our homes
regularly, working with residents on optimising health, preventing
injuries and achieving their highest level of independence
possible. As well as individual assessments and therapies, an
occupational therapist, together with a physiotherapist,
coordinates activity
programs.
Also visiting our homes regularly, a
physiotherapist aims to maximise the quality of
life of all our residents through movement and mobility. As part of
this, regular exercise programs specially designed for residents
are included in our activity calendars.
Residents also have access to a podiatrist, who
specialises in the health of feet, ankles and lower limbs. A
podiatrist works with residents to minimise pain or discomfort in
these areas as well as to assess and treat specific foot
conditions.
Our dietician ensures that all our residents'
unique nutritional needs are met and that our meals remain well balanced.
They provide recommendations that take into account individual
requirements and factors such as weight.
A speech pathologist is also available to assess
residents who are experiencing difficulties with eating and provide
recommendations for their individual needs.
We arrange other health specialists for our residents as required,
including dental and optical
services.
