Read more >To find out if you or your loved one is eligible for an aged care home or home care you will need to be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). Assessments are fully funded by the Australian Government and are therefore free to all Australians. You can call the My Aged Care Hotline to arrange your assessment today on 1800 200 422.
A member of the assessment team will visit you and ask some questions about your lifestyle and health needs. This will allow them to work out your eligibility and the best care option for you in the immediate future. This may mean you will be able to access assistance to continue living in your own home, or that you need residential care with 24 hours support so you can continue enjoying your life to the full.
Make sure you keep a copy of your assessment, as you will need to provide it to the home or home care provider of your choice before your care can commence.
You can learn more about ACAT assessments and find your local ACAT by visiting www.myagedcare.gov.au or phoning 1800 200 422.
