Lest We Forget – Commemorating 100 Years of ANZAC

On 25 April each year, Australia stops to recall those who in the great tragedy of war gave their lives for Australia and for the freedom of mankind and those who sleep in the unknown resting places in many lands and in every sea. 2015 marks the 100 year anniversary of the landing of ANZAC troops at Gallipoli, it is the day that we become inspired by the spirit of Anzac, and what it means to be Australian.

It is an honour that we have cared for so many war veterans and their families at our homes. Some many of our residents have been personally touched by war, but are unable to attend commemorative services in their communities, therefore we are delighted to be hosting commemorative services at most of our homes. In recognising the significance of this event, it gives our staff great joy to provide our residents the opportunity to remember and reflect on this special occasion.

Hall & Prior is an organisation that above all else embraces the spirit of Anzac and the qualities of courage, mateship, sacrifice, and endurance. It is through courage that we are able to challenge ourselves to improve and embrace change. It is through mateship that we create a caring and vital community for each other to thrive. It is through sacrifice that we help each other in difficult times. It is through endurance that we carry on each day, making it better than the one before.
