Geriatrician

What is a geriatrician?

They are a physician who specialises in the care of older and ageing adults. They have additional medical training to help meet the special needs of older adults.

Geriatricians in residential aged care

For residents of long term care, hospitalisations or transfers for appointments can cause distress and disruption.

Through the employment of a part-time geriatrician, Hall & Prior aim to reduce this disruption by having a multidisciplinary team available to assist with complex care needs.

The general practitioner will continue to be the leading service provider for our residents and will work closely with our geriatrician and nurse practitioner to provide high quality care for our residents.
